Chasing a Covered Wagon - N.C. Transportation Museum
Просмотров 249Месяц назад
In early May, I visited the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer to check out their excursion operations. I was expecting one of the Geeps (SR 2601 or N&W 620) to be leading the train, but I was surprised to see FP7 6133 in charge! This beautiful "covered wagon" from 1950 was still going strong, showing how the Southern Railway embraced dieselization - ending steam operations only th...

Percy is my favorite character from Thomas and Friends. This was so much fun to ride him back in 2014 with my younger cousin who was also a fan of Thomas as well.
Percy has a Cute Voice.
Y6a and y6b train in my country buyyed by statts spoor wegen the Dutch east indiest train company they numbered it ss class 1000(y6a) and the last (y6b)is ss class 1200 and 1250,after my country is independence the number changed called dd50(ex ss class 1000for the y6a dd51 for the more upgrade other y6 American alco steam mallet and the last is dd52 or ss class 1250 sadly the only survive steam mallet from dd series is only dd52 which now is doing some restoration the other steam engine dd50 dd51 and other dd52 is scrapped in the 80s or 70s because no more sparepart for them, btw did i wrong guess it or not because the other engine looks same as em1 class train from Baltimore and Ohio in this video
I remember watching this when I was little. Rewatching this brings back old memories. Thank you bruv
@@__sadew__ it’s surprising how many people look back on this and say: “God, this brings back childhood memories.” 😳 Meanwhile, I just laugh to myself because this was made back when I was 15/16 years old and thought I was a comedic genius lol 😂

Steam trains are coming back!!!!
What do you mean?
cp 1278 spotted, fucking scrap it, it deserves it
We recommend the dvd “150 years of German Railways” It features the 1985 150 celebrations, plenty of history and action including v200s, a “glasshouse” railcar, Adler and Maffei

That tommas was the boiler test.......?
This is true nostalgia for me
I’m actually considering getting one of those engines and modifying it extensively and lettering it for my model railroad as their engine number 11. I will be modifying it with a larger headlamp from a Bachmann USRA 2-8-2 and a TCS WOWsound decoder.
What is The Intro Song
Brings back memories.
Has Anything come up about their future?
As far as I’m aware, the business is still being run by Greg’s widow. She might run the company until the current stock of programs are out.
I habe two of these one is dc and one is Bachmann EZ app, They are very good moguls.
There is another negative to the film. I did not appreciate the kids being allowed to fool around with priceless lionel standard gauge sets, take hammers to them, etc. That was pretty cringe.
A lot of the models featured were likely MTH “Tinplate Traditions” replicas. Note that the Blue Comet had a smoke unit; the original never had smoke.
@@trainmaster844 Ah, should've considered that. Even still, very expensive sets and I do not like seeing them treated as cheap toys

Part of this video that surprised me was seeing the Thomas replica models by North Western Modelers at 3:13.
What was the train that was at the crossing because it reminds me of the Essex steam train 3025
It’s a picture of Susquehanna 142
Great video man! Nice job syncing up the 542 sounds! Now we just have to really restore her 😂
I thought the 542 was still able to run, is it not? I know it's just on display for now, and I wanted to be there that day/night but our daughter was sick so had to miss it. Would have been glorious to see her rollin' down the track in person :) Thank you so much for making this video so I can see her in motion vicariously through this lol
This was the first time that NCTM moved 542 past the switch heading North out of the property and she rolled very smoothly for an engine that mostly sits on display. 😎👍🏼
@@trainmaster844 That being in no small part due to the efforts of plenty of Rail Ops volunteers and to get it lubricated and slightly polished up.
@@justahillbilly7777 And all their efforts are definitely appreciated 😎👍🏼
I'd surd love to do this someday. Btw, any clue what whistle she was sporting?
She had a Powell 3-Chime on this day.
@@trainmaster844 thanks a bunch.
Old times
Gotta ask about SOU 542s whistle was that edited in or they were actually able to be blowing it somehow
It was edited in. The sound is an archive from my video of Wilmington & Western 0-6-0 #58 from 2021.
Oh ok thanks for letting me know
Awesome video! Glad you had fun at the night photoshoot! It was a lot of fun!
Many thanks to you and the NCTM staff for your great orchestration of everything! I’d love to be back for more events like this! 😎
I was there the same time you were I think
Great video man! Thanks for coming out, and it was great seeing you again!
Absolutely! 😎👍🏼 This was a fantastic event and hopefully, I’ll be back for more in the future 🚂
You've sure been visiting this place a lot lately, any particular reason? Still, good video.
It’s within easy driving distance for me and admission is very affordable. I’ve also got several friends up in North Carolina that I visit, too 😎
@@trainmaster844 gotcha
Very nice video! Looked like a lot of fun! Also glad you included clips of North Western Modelers' display. Those guys are awesome.
Very fun times that day! Really hope Brian puts on another show just like this, and maybe I can stick around to see the grand finale LOL! But where did the secondary audio for 542's runby come from? Sounds oddly like 734's more modern IC 3-chime, but that might be me mislabeling longbells :P
The audio was from Wilmington & Western 0-6-0 #58, with a Hancock 3-Chime from the Lehigh Valley Railroad. I wanted to add some extra ambience to sell the idea of 542 running by under power 😉
@@trainmaster844 Ah, cool! Very smart to use a Hancock not gonna lie
This was very enjoyable :)
Glad that you enjoyed it! 😎🤝 Thanks for your support, as always!
Beautiful historic diesel and steam locomotives, really liked the Seaboard observation car. Great shots of the displays, excellent video and editing ! Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed every minute. Greetings from Southern California; - Larry
Glad you enjoyed the video, Larry! I added some extra sound effects to the night photo shoot sequence to sell the shots of 542. 😉 NCTM has a beautiful collection of equipment and definitely worth a visit!
